With it being Games Careers Week this week, we thought it the ideal time to announce the launch of the nDreams Academy - an exciting new initiative incorporating and promoting the studio’s external Learning and Development activities!
The Academy will exemplify how the company supports the growth of the industry through creating a talent pipeline and showcasing its values to those interested in a career in games. The programme will include internships, graduate placements, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities. The Academy will also house specific programmes for developing new resources to cover gaps in areas of skills shortage for the industry. For example, participating in the Government’s Kickstart scheme (with a minimum of 5 placements this year), and developing partnerships in the Education sector to assist with the training of more experienced employees.
The nDreams Academy will be headed up by Daniel Woodward, Learning and Development Manager at the company. This new role will see Daniel lead the strategy for L&D and be responsible for devising a blended approach to learning for all employees and attendees of the Academy’s activities.
“Now more than ever, we need to ensure those who want to get into the games industry have access to as many different channels as possible. With the nDreams Academy, our aim is to provide training opportunities and support at our studio for people at all stages of their careers” said Tamsin O’Luanaigh, Chief People Officer. “Additionally, we want to empower our colleagues to not only continue their own learning journeys at the studio, but to give them the opportunity to encourage others into the industry through collaborating with the Academy initiatives”.
