Cloud DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure

We are looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to help pioneer development in live service VR games. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the new Shared Technology: Infrastructure team and support innovative projects from the earliest stages.
We are building a shared services model within nDreams and you will play a key role in shaping our Infrastructure service delivery across nDreams’ four hybrid and remote studios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and manage highly secure, scalable and available cloud architectures.
- Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
- Work closely with game project teams to understand their infrastructure needs, and design/prioritise work accordingly.
- Support the nDreams studio leads, offering expertise and collaborating to resolve issues.
- Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
- Configure cloud infrastructure components like networking and security services on public cloud.
- Create the applications and databases that perform on public cloud.
- Monitor cloud management and data storage services.
- Identify key cloud-related issues such as cost control, scalability, etc.
- Define new process and system improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies.
Requirements
Essential capabilities:
- Prior experience as a Cloud Engineer.
- Experience in Linux administration and deployments.
- Proficiency with any public cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) services and infrastructure.
- Experience/Exposure with configuration management tools.
- Experience in Deploying “Infrastructure as A Code” either using Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- Experience in Automating Infrastructure deployment
- Experience with DevOps & ITIL
- Strong familiarity with systems engineering, cluster computing and programming theory
- Excellent knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming
- Ability to code to implement essential security measures.
- You have good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience and understanding of build and deployment pipelines used in game development.
- An enabling mindset backed up with engineering and automation skills.
- A broad working knowledge of online services and cloud infrastructure.
Desired experience:
- Games industry experience or exposure to multiplayer gaming.
- Experience programming for realtime application or game engines (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity)
- Knowledge of SCM and CI/CD tools/pipelines.
