Production Director - Orbital

Apply

Description

We are nDreams, an award-winning independent developer and publisher, delivering world-leading interactive VR experiences.

Our new fully remote studio nDreams Studio Orbital has just been announced, and we’re looking for talented people to help pioneer development in live service games for VR that will entertain players for years.

We have the speed and creative flexibility of a start-up, with the experience and backing of the team behind Fracked, Far Cry: Dive Into Insanity and #1 Selling, Award-winning Phantom: Covert Ops.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of both a new team and project right from the start.

This is a unique opportunity to become one of the founding members of nDreams: Studio Orbital and create world-class VR experiences.

As Production Director, you will be creating the framework for our new studio to work in an efficient and cohesive manner. You love team building, problem solving, streamlining processes and helping others to be the best version of themselves. You can strike the right balance between delivering milestones on time and budget, whilst maintaining a happy and healthy work environment for our team.

On the product side, it’s your responsibility to own the project roadmap and ensure the most impactful features are prioritized for development. You can navigate the complexities of delighting players, driving revenue and absorbing product feedback from a wide range of sources before delivering a clear and simple plan to the team.

Your exceptional organisational abilities and level-headed decision making are what make you an ideal candidate. The role will encompass building and scaling studio processes from the ground-up, leading our first title from prototype through to launch and live operations, and generally noticing what everyone else has forgotten!

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion our studio’s production processes
  • Own the product roadmap, resourcing strategy and manage competing priorities
  • Facilitate best in class remote working practices and communication
  • Foster a positive and fun working environment for the team
  • Identify and solve resourcing problems by hiring, outsourcing or contracting
  • Ensure we have the data and feedback, both objective and subjective, to make meaningful product decisions

Requirements

  • A self-starter able to forge and scale production processes from the ground up.
  • 7 years games industry experience, including at least 3 shipped titles.
  • Experience running live games and contributing to a roadmap for a successful live title
  • Experience configuring and using project management tools (Jira, Confluence etc.)
  • An experienced team leader, able to proactively identify problems, propose solutions and enable their team to be the best
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment and responsive to change in the face of uncertainty.
  • A diverse and all-round knowledge of the games industry and business trends.

Benefits

Our growing studio shares a passion for innovation, collaboration and defining the future of VR. We encourage an open, creative, and diverse culture and empower people to explore their ideas and put their own stamp on projects. With humble beginnings of our own, we combine big projects and opportunities with a personal, caring touch. We’re proud of our culture – come and see why!

We offer some great perks, including flexible core hours, private health insurance, pension, 20 days holiday (increasing yearly to a maximum of 25 days), two duvet days plus a day off to celebrate your birthday. As you’d guess, we provide all the equipment you need to create amazing VR experiences.

We are a remote first studio with the advantages that brings. We will hold social get togethers once per quarter in London to bond and become the best team we can be.
