We have amazing opportunity for an experienced Art Manager to join us here at nDreams, where you will work closely with the project Art Director, Production and HR/Recruitment to provide art leadership across multiple projects.

A proactive and effective communicator who is the bridge between the art disciplines and the practicalities of development, including maintaining the correct resources per project and facilitating project workflows to allow sustainable development cycles. The Art Manager will be responsible for growing the art department, whilst maintaining a balanced and flexible skillset. It is the role of the Art Manager to support the nurturing, development, planning and career progression of all artists across multiple teams & projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Production team and Discipline Managers to bridge the communication gaps and ensure art resourcing, workflow/pipelines and scheduling is realistic, appropriate, and planned for.
  • Grow and develop each art sub discipline team specifically in terms of personal review, career progression, skill balance and recruitment.
  • Own and support the infrastructure for all external outsource studios or partnership relations, or freelancing satellite development.
  • Via reviews and personal support, assist all project Art Director’s in the task of galvanising the art team towards good process when delivering specific goals and deadlines.
  • Own the art departments hiring objectives, that is executing interviews or facilitating them plus following through on the necessary processes to ensure all involved parties are informed and systems are updated with notes.
  • Ensure and build upon solid working practices are in place per project to enable the universal creation of quality across the studio.
  • Help report and track the health of the art department, with both current and future foresight considerations mitigated, communicated, and planned for.

Essential capabilities

  • An empathetic person that can understand, support and career manage all personalities across the team.
  • Strong verbal and written skills to enable clear and concise articulation of individuals feedback via our regular review process. as much as content critiquing.
  • A pro-active and nurturing mentality, conducive to the mentoring and objective critiquing of an evolving Art Department.
  • The ability and mentality to deal with a very reactive environment with the ability to minimise disruption and embrace change is key.
  • Extensive experience in the games industry including leadership roles and a proven understanding of the entire development cycle and pipelines of game development on AA/AAA titles.
  • A seasoned developer who has the foresight and confidence of development experience to confirm appropriate methods of execution or pipeline mitigation when it comes to an art team’s capability of delivering a given vision.
Desired experience
  • Extensive experience in the games industry including leadership roles and a
  • proven understanding of the entire development cycle and pipelines of game
  • development on AA/AAA titles.
  • A seasoned developer who has the foresight and confidence of development
