UI Artist Orbital (Remote)

nDreams Studio Orbital is looking for talented people to help pioneer development in live service games for VR that will entertain players for years. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of both a new team and project right from the start.

We are looking for an artist who is passionate about UI but also enthusiastic about the immersive world of VR and the interesting challenges that working with the technology brings.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, bridging creative and technical solutions together to bring our user interface to life.

They will take ownership for all UI artwork created at Orbital and will work collaboratively across the project to ensure the best possible visuals enhance the design, are optimal, professionally presented and realised in-game.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Collaborating with the Art Director and Design team to establish the look of the games’ front end and in-game user experience.
  • Developing a dynamic 3D UI from initial concepts through to final quality assets in engine.
  • Creating 2D content such as banners, backgrounds, icons & achievements.
  • Adding excitement to the user interface with animations, transitions, FX, and interactions.
  • Verifying art in VR and making improvements where necessary to fit technical limitations and artistic direction.
  • Helping support the project as we move into the live operations phase of development.
  • Contributing to other areas of the project when possible - such as marketing artwork & 3D asset creation.


  • Broad knowledge of UI and UX principles covering graphic design, composition, colour theory, typography, and accessibility.
  • Experience and understanding of 2D content creation software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of 3D content creation software such as Blender and Maya.
  • Interest in the latest VR technologies and current trends in art content creation.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard project management tools and source control software.
  • A creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to personal development.
  • Positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude and be able to adapt based on feedback.
  • After Effects and animation experience is desirable.
  • Experience of implementing art in Unreal, specifically UMG and blueprints to animate and build functionality into the UI.
