Infrastructure Director - Core Tech (Hybrid)

Our projects continue to push forward the boundaries of VR and we’re looking for talented people to help us turn them into a reality. Our talented studio now has over 100 people and has been assembled from world-leading games developers and publishers.

The Role

  • Manager of Infra Cloud Architecture - Advise on our technology and strategy to deploy and maintain online services for use in the development and live operations of multiplayer experiences.
  • Design, in collaboration with games teams, reliable, secure, maintainable, robust and scalable systems.
  • Manage the Infrastructure and Dev Ops engineers to complete the projects that you help design.
  • Planning - Schedule tasks and complete them on time, within budget, with an understanding of and appreciation for milestones, schedules, deadlines and efficient development processes
  • Leadership - Work with a level of autonomy whilst reliably and effectively participating in team development.
  • Quality of Service – Maintain high standard of support for infrastructure. Contingency planning: maximise uptime, minimise disruption.
  • Security – Ensure robust security.
  • Reporting to the Head of Technical Operations who coordinates shared technology and infrastructure requirements across all nDreams studios.
  • Be hands on with problem solving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and develop long term strategies for nDreams games and userbase.
  • Own the long term roadmap for our infrastructure and work with the Tech Ops Director to budget for current and future projects.
  • Recruit and mentor an A class team of Engineers to develop a reliable and efficient system for all nDreams products

Essential capabilities

  • Cloud architecture design and implementation. Modern infrastructure-as-code and containerisation techniques.
  • AWS account management.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience with databases: SQL and NoSQL. Server maintenance and advice on database design.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux.
  • Programming languages: Python, C#, C++.
  • Team management.
  • Clear reporting to clients.
  • Bonus: Perforce usage and maintenance.
  • Bonus: CI build systems.

Salary is competitive and dependent on your experience.
