Animator - Studio Elevation (Remote within UK)



Elevation is re-establishing the boundaries of VR. We’re looking for a talented Animator to help us explore, create, and deliver world-leading innovation in software and VR hardware. Become one of the founding members of Elevation, pathfinding a remote first studio, crafting a new generation of VR development and bringing core VR games to fruition.

As an Animator you will be responsible for the artistry of your work as much as its perception in an all-encompassing VR space. We value the power of animation and the impact it can have when gelling a cohesive and innovative sense of style and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating remarkable in-game animations, bringing characters, stories, and embodiment to life in a cutting-edge VR title.
  • Working cross-discipline, problem-solving, and tackling challenges in a collaborative team.
  • Having a stake in the early development of the animation pipeline and requirements.
  • Planning, capturing, and processing motion capture data, combined with beautifully crafted keyframe animation.


Essential capabilities:

  • Has a strong portfolio of animation in a variety of styles that highlight timing, emotion, weight and believability.
  • Motion-capture experience.
  • Experience animating in Maya.
  • Real-time engine experience, ideally in Unreal.
  • Creating animations in Sequencer, with a knowledge of blueprints.
  • Experience in the games industry, preferably with at least one published product within Console, PC or VR.
  • Interested in the latest VR technologies and current trends in art content creation.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard project management tools and source control software.
  • A creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to personal development.
  • Positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude who is able to adapt based on feedback.

Desired experience:

  • 4 years game development experience and/or 1-2 published games.
  • An aptitude to apply themselves to new technologies.
  • Experience in skinning characters that deform realistically in all situations.
