Introducing nDreams Academy Summer Pipeline!

At nDreams, we believe in unlocking potential and opening doors to the games industry for everyone—especially those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our Summer Academy Pipeline, a multi-stage programme designed to inspire, educate, and employ the next generation of game creators from diverse backgrounds.

We’re proud to be working closely with our friends at Into Games, collaborating on this pipeline to encourage young people from low-income backgrounds to consider a career in games. With only 13% of staff in our industry coming from lower socio-economic backgrounds (Into Games, Difficulty Level 2024 Report), it’s vital that we work together to provide the support and guidance needed to support greaterbring more diversity to the industry. The Summer Academy Pipeline is just one way we’re making that happen.

🎮 Stage 1: Inspiring Futures at Bohunt Farnborough

The summer kicks off with a dynamic day of workshops at Bohunt Farnborough Secondary School, delivered in collaboration with Into Games.

These engaging sessions take place during the students’ Creative Careers Week, introducing them to the world of game development—from design thinking to career pathways. By reaching students just before they begin their GCSEs, we’re igniting early interest in the games industry and inspiring the next generation of creators.

Using resources provided by Into Games, students will create their own game brief and can apply their new skills to enter the BAFTA Young Designers competition. This gives them the chance to win the Young Designers award and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience alongside professional game developers. With additional workbooks provided, the workshop will have a lasting impact that extends well beyond the classroom.

🚀 Stage 2: Into Games Summer Programme

Next, we welcome a cohort of young people aged 16+ from low-income backgrounds to a 5-day immersive programme led by Into Games. Participants dive deeper into game development, gaining practical skills, mentorship, and exposure to real industry tools and workflows. It’s not just about learning—it’s about building confidence and community.

They’ll work to a game brief, with guidance from both Into Games and our nDreams tutors, and each participant will finish the week with a stronger understanding of how games are made and how to begin their journey into the industry.

🕹️ Stage 3: Work Experience at nDreams

Continuing the learning journey, we have opened applications for a week-long work experience at our nDreams studios in Brighton and Farnborough. Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at how games are made, shadowing professionals across departments and contributing to real projects.
